Learn to Weeklong Camp Registration

What: To help new Scouters learn to plan, facilitate, organize equipment, and experience all that goes into a weeklong camp experience! If you don't do it yourself, it can be intimidating to take your whole group on a weeklong camp. Let us help you gain the experience and skills do this on your own. We will also be adding in elements of Woodbadge II!

Date: August 2-9, 2025 - we are encouraging Scouters to attend for the Saturday - Wednesday to get the feel for camp, some Woodbadge II training, and overall experience. If Scouters would like to attend for the whole week, they are welcome to! We know getting time off work can be hard, if they are available for only part of the week, we can make that work as well!

Campsite: Chippewa Point

Cost: Pay only for food! Roughly $20/day for food. If with us part of the week $60, if the whole week $130. No camp fee to attend. Payment is not required to register - payment will be made closer to camping week.

Who can Attend: Adult Scouters who are registered with Scouts Canada - if other people reach out and are interested, I will let Terri and Vince make that call.

Need to Pack: personal gear for camping for multiple days (sunshine, rain, hot, cool), tent if they are able to (one can be supplied if necessary), mess kit, camping chair, good shoes, water shoes, etc.

Outcome: Learn and experience how to do a weeklong camp at HSR. This will help you and your troop do a weeklong adventure at HSR, jamborees, Algonquin park - so many opportunities! And, learn some integral elements of Woodbadge II including campsite set up, basic first aid skills, using the patrol method, facilitating adventures, and planning for youth-led adventures!

Bonus: If you attend this program and attend HSR with your troop in 2026, your personal camp fee will be discounted (You as a Scouter will have your camp fee discounted in 2026 but the rest of your group is still paying). *Your group must be new to HSR in order to receive this discount.

Program Leads: Terri Bulman and Vince Bulman from 1st North Grimsby are organizing and running this initiative! They have camped at HSR 10+ times - experts of camping at HSR!
