Haliburton Scout Reserve Summer Camp Mission Statement
Haliburton Scout Reserve is dedicated to the development of Scouting adolescents and adults from across the world. We provide quality outdoor programmes that support Scouts Canada’s Mission by providing a variety of experiences and leadership growth opportunities associated with Sustainable Development Goals with a wilderness focus and a supportive qualified staff. Haliburton Scout Reserve is inclusive and celebrates diversity including but not limited to race, gender, sexuality, faith, or challenge.
Haliburton Scout Reserve Summer Camp will be by intent, a leading example of ecological stewardship by:
Active involvement and education of users.
Waste management.
Developing and maintaining liaisons with relevant organizations.
Developing programming and partnerships that align with UN sustainable development goals including environmental, social, and innovation.
Haliburton Scout Reserve will offer a wide range of quality programmes by:
Developing new outdoor programmes.
Enabling scouting youth to partake in programmes they may otherwise be unable to do.
Ensuring programmes are safe, fun, and inviting.
Consistently working to incorporate Scouts Canada's “Outdoor Adventure Skills” and “Sustainability Badge.”
Haliburton Scout Reserve will be adequately funded to carry out its mission and will have effective administration for stewardship of natural resources, delivery of programme, and maintenance of operations by:
Being fiscally prudent.
Ensuring good administrative practices.
Being an exemplary employer.
Being visitor service focused.
Effective marketing and promotion.
Haliburton Scout Reserve facilities will be managed consistently with the mission to ensure pro-active maintenance and development by:
Meeting or exceeding government regulations.
Adhering to risk management guidelines and directives.
Heeding ecological stewardship.
