Kingfisher Point
Kingfisher Point
Site Minimum: 10 people
Site Maximum: 30 people
Description: A good sized site, with lots of rocky shore for fishing, good swimming, and set in a beautiful mixed forest. Large area to spread out the tents and large campfire/gathering place.
Exposure: East. Early morning sun, but into full shade by mid afternoon. Nice breezes out on the point.
Travel Time (by canoe)
>> to Hub = 20 - 30 min.
>> to Main End / Parking = 40 - 50 min.
Comments: The quiet solitude at this end of Buck Island is nice. Being on an island means no worries about bears (but there can be racoons), and Scouts can't get seriously lost in the woods.
Campsite Name Meaning: Named after a kingfisher that was seen sitting on the point.
